What is an Alternate Year Review or AYR worksheet?
An Alternate Year Review (AYR) is a process in which the financial aid office will re-evaluate your package based on another year's tax information due to a change in circumstance beyond a family's control. We ask that families complete the entire worksheet to the best of their abilities with estimates of their finances; these do not have to be the exact result. Later, our office will request the official tax returns that were previously estimated in order to verify any changes in taxed or untaxed income.
*Please be aware that estimated grant allocated due to an Alternate Year Review will appear on a student's SSOL account as pending. These funds will not disburse until we have received and adjusted the projected income figures to match the figures listed on the finalized tax return. Changes in income may result in a change in grant eligibility.*
How do I submit an AYR worksheet?
Once completed, families can submit their request form by email, fax, or mail along with any pertinent supporting documentation. We encourage families to prepare any supporting materials prior to their appeal request and submit them through the forums previously mentioned.
